im·bro·glio

/imˈbrōlyō/: an extremely confused, complicated situation.

An Imbroglio is a hard or difficult situation with a silver lining and it's actually the same word in multiple languages. We all met in Haiti in a difficult situation where we were teaching and performing at a Haitian music camp. There is no air conditioning and the students were extremely poor. Not the best teaching conditions. But the students wanted to learn. The group of us music teachers and educators decided to form a group and donate our proceeds to music in Haiti.

The Imbroglio Sextet’s Texas/Louisiana of 2015 included a fantastic mix of mirth, friendship, and music. This half-hour documentary tells the stories of their adventures which included a few, well, imbroglios) and delves into the cause that brought them all together.
